I recently learned that the lotus flower lives in mud. When there is no light, the flower recedes into the mud. When there is light, the lotus ascends through the mud to the surface. This made me think of the blooming lotus’s ascension to the surface as the realization of the its infinite, unbound potential.
Just as the lotus must journey from the depths of the mud, so must we. We can think of the mud as obstacles of life and it’s suffering. Sometimes we get stuck in the dark and lose our way.
When our own light fades or goes out, it can be hard to see past our suffering. We close our hearts to anything beyond the surface, we close ourselves to our infinite, unbound potential.
Unlike the sunlight that ascends the lotus, the light of universal consciousness is always glowing brightly. Our source of light, our way out of the mud is always there, we just forget.
Let your heart bloom, open to yourself, open to the source and bring that connection and remembrance into your heart and into your life.
