“Love and compassion are necessities, not luxuries. Without them, humanity cannot survive” – Dalai Lama
|I know that things feel unsure and scary right now, many of us taking refuge in our homes and families, waiting to learn more, fearful for what’s to come next.|
I cannot tell you how things will unfold, but I can assure you that the sun will continue to rise each day and our lives will continue to move forward.
Instead of expending efforts and energy on worry and dread, we must focus on how we move forward. We live in a world connected through technology, but live our lives disconnected.
We have become a very external society, addicted to our phones and social media. Now, in this time of pause we are given a gift…the gift of the present.
Spend this time reconnecting with your families. Check in with your neighbors and offer them support. Offer compassion to yourself and others in every moment. Now is a time for all of us to learn to love more.
I urge you to take this time to connect not only to those within your homes, but to yourself. Love, show compassion and continue with your yoga practice.
Within each of us is all of us and we will get through this together.
